What is Esculetin Powder?
Esculetin is an intermediate of Pingchuanning. 6,7-dihydroxycoumarin was methylated with dimethyl sulfate to obtain Pingchuanning (dimethoxycoumarin).
Esculetin is an antiasthmatic drug with obvious antiasthmatic effect, expectorant and antitussive effect. Aesculetin itself is an antibacterial drug with inhibitory effect on dysentery bacilli. It can be used to treat acute bacillary dysentery, relieve asthma and expectorant. It can also be used to treat chronic tracheitis.
